When I insert the slide

The problem is with a VuPoint Slide scanner.

When I insert the slide try into the scanner, I used to see the image, then click "snapshot" and transfer to Photoshop. I could be sure the slide was centered.Now I don't see an image until I click "snapshot" and then I can't align the image like I could before.Is the machine broken?
