When I said the Shahdah...?

MashaALLAH on Muslimisation.

: First should have performed Al-Ghusl - greater purification bath, (obligatory when: marital intercourse, nocturnal emission, end of monthly period, after child birth, or when entering into the fold of Islam).

: Taught the First Kalimah "Kalimah Taiyyaba" (Declaration of Faith in Islam).

The Shariah on Haid (menstruation - monthly period):

: Woman have to refrain from touching or reciting or teaching from the Qur'ãn, when in haid.

: Woman have to refrain from Fasting in Ramadhan, when in haid.

: Woman have to refrain from the five times daily Salaat (Prayers), when in haid.

: Woman have to refrain going to the Masjid (Mosque), when in haid.

: Woman have to refrain from performing Tawaf (circuits) round the Ka'aba (Sacred Masjid in Mecca), when in haid.

: Women have to refrain from sexual intercourse, when in haid.

The Qur'ãn:

"Truly ALLAH loveth those who turn unto Him and loveth those who have a care for cleanliness." (The Cow-II-222).

Al-Hadith: (Ahmad):

"The key of Jannat is five times Salaat, and the key to Salaat is cleanliness."

Al-Hadith: (Muslim):

"Cleanliness in Islam is one-half of the Faith."

The only things u can't do, my sister during ur period are: fasting, praying, touching the Quran, circling the Holy Ka'abah and marital relations.

Nothing else can't be done while u have it.

Ur sahadah is perfectly valid.
