When can I apply for FAFSA?

Question

I'm a junior in high school now and I was wondering if I can apply now?

Because on the website, it says that you need a high school diploma, so yeah I was wondering if I can or can't.

no not yet.  In Feb during your senior year.  You can try doing the fafsa 4caster now.  It is a website that allows you to enter info to estimate how  much you might get .  The info is in the beginning of this book.

You generally apply in the spring before you enter college. I would say probably around April of your senior year. Don't forget to check out the scholarship opportunities at the college of choice and see when the deadlines for those are. Some can be quite early. I would do that pretty soon. And when you fill out your FAFSA, either do it on  a paper copy and mail it in or make sure you go to the official website. There are imitation websites that scam you out of your info and money.
