  1. Mine was smiling by 3weeks, then laughing by 8weeks or so.

Dont worry, she will smile soon.....constantly talk to her and smile...she will get the idea :)

    congrats!

  2. The books all say around 3 months & b4 that it's just a smile from gas.  I have 4 kids & I think that's about right.  A little b4 maybe.  I have 2 girls & 2 boys.  The girls were quicker to smile & notice me then the boys.

  3. My daughter was 8 weeks old...I remember feeling the way you do! I even asked my Dr, "When is she going to smile at me"?!? But, in time she will. You dont have much longer until you will see that Beautiful smile you have been waiting to see!!!!!

  4. Mine was around 2 months, I think...horrible I can't remember, but I wrote it in her baby book!  If you watch your baby sleep...you'll catch glimpses of little smiles when she has gas...lol.  It's SO freaking cute!

  5. My baby started smiling at us at 2wks, now at 2mos. she laughs she's just a happy baby I guess

  6. I like to think that my 4 week old baby is smiling at me....but I'm sure it's still gas. It is cute though! Today after she had the hiccups she smiled and it was the cutest thing ever!

  7. She was three weeks old when she smiled at her Dad when he was talking funny to her.  I think she smiled before that too??

  8. Do you want her to notice you or to smile at you?

They smile at different times. I believe definitely by 2 months.

She should notice you already. You should get a little closer to her face when talking to her, because their eye sight is not like ours.

Hang some big black and white picture by changing station and see if she notices it when you change her. (not your b/w picture, but shapes, or you can draw a smiley face with a place non-toxic marker) If you are very concerned, then ask your pediatrician.

  9. about 2 weeks. but he started smiling ALL THE TIME at around 6 weeks

  10. My son started smiling at us when we smiled at him first at 5 1/2 weeks and I'll never forget it because it happened to be Mother's Day.

  12. Actually during the 5 day stay I had at the hospital after birth, she smiled during one of those days. Can't remember exactly when. I'm sure she didn't know what she was doing but my husband saw it too; definitely a smile.
