  1. Between 3 and 4.  I am a preschool 4's teacher and the children that seem to excel start at 3.  This gives them a chance to learn how to socialize with other children.  Social readiness is very important for kindergarten, so a good age to start is 3.  Most children start kindergarten around the age 5.

  2. i started preschool when i was 4years old

  3. 5 yr olds are usually eligble to go to Kindergarten, or as in my town they have a "Young 5's" program for 5 yr olds who arent quite ready.  But most preschools will take kids starting at 3 yrs old if they are potty trained.  There are dozens of programs depending on where you live, and it is a great start for toddlers to get into a structured program and learn to interact with other little kids.

  4. The earliest you can start pre-school is 2 years old.  I started when I was 3.

Btw, you start Kindergarten when you're 5.

  5. Most schools seem to start at age three. However I have worked in centers that start at age two and one center I worked at began with babies.

  6. Depends on your definition of preschool I guess :-)

Some people feel that preschool covers ANY school before Kindergarten and refer to child care in the infant room...preschool.

Usually I consider preschool to be started at 3 years old.

So you have infant and toddler up to 2.5-3 years.  Though the cut off dates are different in the U.S. from state to state...most 5 year olds are eligible for Kindergarten.
