When does this become harassment?

These people keep calling me from I don't know where. I think it may be a telemarketer but I am not sure. They have called here at the very least 10 times today. They don't leave a message and when I pick up the phone I hear people talking then it hangs up. I don't know if its people messing around prank calling or not. But its the same number every time. They have been doing this for the past week now. They call about 15 times a day and just hang up.

So, what can I do that doesn't involve the police or cost me money or is it not at that point yet?

An idea that may work (it did for me). The very next time you get a phone call from the same number. put the phone right next to your closest smoke alarm and push the test button, then hang up.  IF you get another call from the same place again, I will be surprised.  If you do get another phone call after that, use the link above.

dial *69 and it should tell you who is calling or at the very least it will dial them,.  then you can find out who is doing this to you.  good luck!

Reporting this as a repeated nuisance call will NOT cost you a thing.  Call your local telephone company.  They will tell you if it is not one of their numbers.  You can also have individual numbers blocked.

Or you may be on someone's cell speeddial and the wrong button gets bumped.  But 10 times a day would be a bit much for that.
