When i bought a new racquet?

he asked me what tension i wanted so i told him 58 he said ok and wrote down 58/65 what does that mean and should i be worried

  1. the tension is the tightness of strings in your racquet. usually racquets recommed a range of tensions for a racquet. check your racquet to be sure because everyone differs. If the salesman or stringer said okay then there should be no worries.


  2. On your racket, there should be a recommended string tension range like 50-60 or 55-65 printed on it.  58/65 probably means your racket is strung at 58 and your maximum recommended tension on the racket is 65 :)

  3. 65 is probably the max recommended tension he wrote. your racquet's tension range is probably from 55-65. so he wrote 58 pounds out of a maximum of 65. nothing to worry about there. you could probably feel how tight the strings if it was strung at 65 anyways.
