When will companies begin broadcasting signals in 1080p?

that's a big investment considering that those broadcasting HD already have a leg up on anyone else.  many channels don't even broadcast in standard HD yet.

There are no plans to broadcast in 1080P. All upgrades to TV stations, Cable systems and satellites are designed for 720P or 1080i. If they ever decide to increase TV resolution, it will be a long time form now! The only source for 1080P will remain High def DVDs and some games.

1080P has an estimated start date of 2014... nothing before that time is planned.

from what i have seen and heard is that they are going away with rabbit ear antennas by Feb. of 2009 and you will need a service provider  to receive a t.v. signal and once they do that it will be a digital picture.   The true HD picture that we must be ready for is 2012 is the supposed deadline for all of us to convert
