Question:

When manufacturers promise to donate?

Is there a watch dog commitee to verify that manufactures are donating to the enviromental endevors as they advertise or promise? Sometimes I wonder if they follow through with their part...Silk building windmills for windpower.

Do they build in their own loopholes? Is it all an advertising gimmick? Are we all just falling for 'green' campaigns and right into their hands?

Do the truth in advertising laws cover this point?

  1. no, its a "donation"

  2. Beware of any corporation saying they "donated" to a cause... more than likely, they went around to the employees and asked THEM to donate to a cause, then signed the company's name to the donation!!!

  3. Having worked in a manufacturing environment I find the negative attitude towards them ridiculous.  The products we consume every day are produced by them and  many are very generous in their donations to community plus providing employment opportunity. Now you want a watch dog group?  How about the NEA? the largest monoply in our country with no accountabilty to any one. Who is watching them? they produce nothing they have helped in the lowering of educational standards and are more interested in indoctrination rather then education.

Are all corportation ran effieciently and generous?  No they are not however many are and if you hate them so much quit utilizing the products they produce.

  4. your question is legitimate I would think that if the companies make these allegations of helping and donations they must fulfil them there are lots of 'watch dog agencies' out there that would 'whistle blow 'them if the their claims were false. We are the watch dogs.

  5. Well....alot of enviromental treaties have "units of pollution" per company or country.....funny thing is...these companies can sell their "allocated pollution" for that year to another company...

It's so twisted one company could argue that they're doing all they can; but in reality are doing nothing.
