  1. Check the manufacturer instructions

  2. The neck must be stronger first talk to Halfords or some one who sells seats or a docter not the Gen.Public.

  3. The law in most states & the car seat manufactuerers guidelines are 1 yr AND 20 lbs, not one or the other, but honestly you wait as long as you feel comfortable. Go to youtube, htere's plenty of evidence there & on google to show that it's actually probably safer to wait until 2 or so. Even if his legs are folded up it's still safer than him gettign a broken neck because his neck muscles aren't strong enough. Just make sure his carseat is a convertable one, not an infant seat. I leave my kids rear facing until at least 2 yrs & they don't complain & do great!

  4. 9 months they can face forwards...mum bought me a carseat for baby and thats what it said on instructions and in store :D

  5. It goes by weight normally about 20lbs and should say on the car seat what weight to forward face from.  My daughter was so small she was still in a rear facing seat at a year old and we had to get a bigger rear facing seat!  If you're stuck try popping into mothercare as they will be able to give you all kinds of advice.

  6. The safety advice from the government and the car safety people is that she should be keep rear facing for as long as possible.

The very earliest you can turn her forward facing is 9 months, but if you do a bit of internet research on this, you will see that it's really not a good idea.

Go to youtube and do a search on 'importance of rear facing' and you will find some very interesting videos on there.

She won't grow out of her current car seat until she is around 1 year old. That is the very earliest you should consider turning her round.

My son is 15 months old and will be staying rear facing for a long time yet! I bought him a convertible car seat that can be used rear facing until 2.5 years.

  7. Ask the RTA

  8. As far as I know in the UK it's 9 months or 20lbs.  Whichever comes first.

  9. General rule is 20lb, there should be a label on it somewhere that has instructions.

  10. Usually around 9 months/19lb.
