Question:

When to get the ring?

My boyfriend and I are planning to get engaged. He's really not sure about rings though, so he just asked me to come along with him to go look at rings...should he propose first though? Or is it totally okay if we were to pick out and ring and then he were to propose?

  1. Either way I guess it don't matter since you already know that he is going to  ask... Maybe go with him to get it and then let him surprise you as to when he asks you

  2. I think it would be fine for you to pick out a ring and then he could propose. That way you get exactly what you want in a ring (you can even look at Bridal Sets and get all three rings at once) and he can still surprise you with the proposal when you least expect it! Congrats!

  3. I agree with Amber. Go and look at rings so he knows what you like and what looks nice on you. Then he can go back and make the final decision on his own and still surprise you with a proposal and a ring. Congrats luck girl!

  4. lt doesn`t matter either way

  5. It's much more special if he chooses the ring, then proposes.

But gee, you already know, so that kinda ruins the surprise of it all... gee...

  6. Hi, my fiance took me to look at rings, and I knew we were going to get engaged long before that. We picked something out together, and he (I didnt know this..) bought it that night. He kept it in his jacket pocket for over a month for when the time was right, and I was sill surprised! It is fine to not be engaged when you go to look at the rings, and after you pick one out...you will be even more on edge about the surpriseing, up coming proposal, I think it makes it more fun!!

    Congrats!

  7. I've had friends go with their boyfriends to pick out the engagement ring first, so he knows the one he wants. One friend just got engaged and she chose 3 or 4 rings that she liked, and her bf picked between them all so she was still a bit surprised. Another idea is to show a mutual friend the ring(s) you like, and then she/he can show your bf. I think it's totally fine to go with him if you want to, but I personally would want it all to be a complete surprise! But that's just me so if it's okay with you, then go for it.

  8. Go with him and show him the rings or style you like... he doesn't need to propose first or RIGHT after... he can still plan a beautiful proposal with you being surprised, just don't expect a proposal right away :)
