Where can I find service?

I'm looking for some community service to do and I live between san jose and cupertino, california, but I don't know where to start!

Start at your local chamber of commerce office, or a local hospital, community center, or senior center. Sometimes nursing homes need volunteers to take patients for walks, read their mail or the newspaper to them, sit and talk or play games.Old folks usually like to reminisce and tell stories about their childhood, etc. Young people can learn alot from those oldsters.
