  1. no where its not recyclable...evil material evil!!!!

  2. best bet is to contact your local recycling centre and ask if they do or were a centre is that may recycle such materials

  3. You can NOT recycle polystrene.

  4. Hi. It is possible to re-use polystyrene as a fuel. A company called Styromelt, developed (not sure if they invented) a machine that melts the polystyrene into blocks, many times smaller than its original state. You can then burn it in the same way as coal, but it is many times more efficient due to it's density and oil content. Main users of this type of system, are the fishing ports who go through huge amounts to store the fish, that once used a few times is waste. I don't know of any local councils who employ such a method, but like most things, it is only  a matter of time. I looked into a machine for my company, but our volume was not sufficient. I hope this helps.

  5. unfortunately I don't think you can recycle polystyrene in your area.

"Is there anywhere I can recycle polystyrene packaging?

Unfortunately, we do not have the facilities to recycle polystyrene packaging. Expanded polystyrene packaging is an inefficient use of resources for its size, as it is made up of 98% air and only 2% material, which becomes only too apparent when it comes to storing it for disposal. Unfortunately it is for these reasons that it is hard to recycle. It is too lightweight and bulky for recycling through bring bank sites and although it seems plentiful at the time, it does not occur frequently enough within domestic rubbish to warrant it being collected through kerbside. "

  6. I don't think it's possible to recycle it, but you could reuse it maybe for loft insulation, or insulating your shed walls, as you seem to have a huge amount.

Small amounts that I get in packaging I use at the bottom of large patio plant pots, it provides excellent drainage and means I can lift the pots to reposition them.
