Where can i find worms?

Question

I checked under bricks and rocks in my front and backyard, but no luck. Where do they hide? I know they hide underground, but how do i find them?

Go out to your lawn at night with a flashlight and you will find worms. They come to the surface at night. They also surface when it is raining hard.

Get a water hose or a sprinkler and soak a medium to large area of the ground, then, cover it with a tarp, boards, or whatever else you have. Leave it overnight and then check.

Loose , moist, cool, organically enriched soil.

If you have a clay yard, try the edge closest to the woods.

If you have raised bed gardens....dig in there.

If you have a properly tended compost heap.....look in there.  You can't miss them!!

Now, if you are looking for a large bundle to start natural aeration or to finish off your compost heap (if you plan to start one for...uhmmmm.......whatever reason....even if only for an eternal supply of worms!!):

But seriously:

If you just want them for fishing welllllllll.......dig around your birdbath.....it's usually a little damper......

Don't have one???  Hmmmmmm.........

My son always seems to find them when he wants to go fishing....he always finds them in .........Loose , moist, cool, organically enriched soil.....our our compost heap.....

In your yard obviously but you can also get some from bait and tackle shops if you really need some

This will sound strange, but if you pat the ground hard with your hand, or a spade or something, the vibrations cause the worms to rise to the surface..so you should see some.
