  1. im not sure u can really "buy" a snapper in the usa. sorry for the let down but some kinds of them r dying out. not to mention  u cant find one at a pet store. they're to harmful to humans. once they lock  down u cant get them off. in conclusion i would suggest that u get something exotic yet doesnt have a high risk of hurting u. they have lots of exotic pets at petco :) someone there can help u farther

  2. try here http://www.turtlesale.com/home/index.php...

  3. I wouldnt want to get one of those.

They are VERY hard to take care of.

Even though they look harmless and cute when they are small, they will grow up and become mean. And you CANNOT release them into the wild because they cannot survive if they have lived with humans before.

They need HUGE tanks and will take lots of money to care for them.

  5. just follow this link hope this helps   http://www.agriseek.com/market/p/Common-...

  6. not many places sell them but in late spring early summer look in any tiny bodys of water next to big bodies of water thats where i found 2 of them and a baby painter

  7. They are not popular pets, and are generally illegal to collect from the wild without permits.

You can try a reptile expo, herpetological society, on-line turtle vendor, etc.. I recommend the first. You can google to find expos in your area.

  8. I can recommend a great reptile store in the UK called Cold Blooded in Rainham Essex where most of my exotics have come from. They also have the added bonus of an almost fully grown one in the store to show you just what you are getting yourself into - these get quite big!

  9. Here is the biggest breeder of snappers in the country: http://www.turtleman.com

I have four common snappers, two of which I've had for several years. They're big and very aggressive, and are not for beginners. But honestly, I think they're one of the easiest aquatic turtles to care for, if you can handle the size and attitude. I'm sure the answerers who are saying they are difficult to care for have never owned one. Feeding time is no problem for snappers! And they aren't illegal everywhere either, just check your state and city animal ordinances.
