What if I use the whole article and edit the whole article? How many times should I site the article on my research paper and where? They are at least 4 paragraphs.

  1. You should use a parenthetical citation any time you use a direct quote or paraphrase (a quote in your own words).  At the end of your paper, you can formally cite the source itself.  Depending on the format you use (this might be specified by your instructor), there are different ways to do this:  MLA, APA, etc.  A google search will lead you to a web site that spells out the details.

  2. You can use any part of an article you are reviewing or arre attacking satirically. Source citations in most styles would go in fully, just after your first quote (Work, Author, publisher, copyright date, page number), and then every other time you make a quote, just finish off with the page number.

    EX:

text, text, text, text, text, texttext, text, text, text, text, text, text, text, text, text, text, text, text, text, text, text, text, text (p. 6)
