Where does individual imagination come from?

Question

I suspect that it bounces off what we hear, see, smell...etc. Maybe that's why everyone somehow seems to imagine similar things when it comes to certain subjects. If so, would it run out? What do you think?

It all comes down to Relevance.  Words change their meaning over time, as new ideas enter society through population influxes, invention or social revolutions.  Context changes and shifts, to give meaning to these new ideas through relativistic relations to existing precepts, resulting in schematic metamorphoses.  Only the perception of self value appears to remain constant, but this too is subject to change, as each new idea requires a reevaluation of the relativistic value of the individual.  Thus, the study of history is really the study of contemporary society, which tells us more about the author and the society in which it is written than of the time which it professes to examine.

Imagination is a term used to describe the way our mind wraps itself around sense perceptions.

Example: you have drank water before, so when I say "water" you can imagine its texture or how it replenishes you. Something more "colorful" than water, such as a burger or alcohol, brings a stronger sense of imagination because it is a stronger sense.

Ultimately, if you did not experience it first hand from objects, you would not have an imagination. People like to say that the imagination is unlimited, but it is not, it depends on sense perceptions, your mind, however, is unlimited.

s*x is one of the biggest things people use their imagination on, and the people who have never had s*x think about s*x the most. How is that possible?

It is because when people imagine "s*x" they do not imagine the actual biological activities of s*x, but the qualities associated with it: for instance, charm, a female body, clothing, fashion, the way someone smells, what they look like, think, etc. None of this is technically "s*x" but the world wants to think it is s*x.

Proof: people like to say "s*x sells" but it actually doesn't, if "s*x sells" then pornography would be the top rated sales product (which it almost is but that is besides the point) what really sells is "sexual innuendos" i.e a "s**y" lady or a "s**y" perfume.

Media and commercials spend billions of dollars to guess how you will imagine certain things, this is why so many people seem to imagine similar things with certain items.
