Where does it come from to get to my house?

No one really knows...

just kidding.

It depends on the type of Internet service you have.  Dial-up and DSL can come through the phone line.  Cable Internet service comes through the cable line.  There are other kinds, but I've never really had those, so I never really paid that much attention to how those services would get to a house.
