  1. You can also get info from fellow cruisers at CruieCritic.com.  Click on "Boards", then "East Coast Departures".  You'll find lots of info about hotels, parking, etc.  You could also go to the port's website for details.

  2. This link will answer both of your questions.  Just select Miami in the drop down list and click on the show cruise pier button ...

  3. Miami's cruise port is at Port Blvd in Miami, which is just off Biscayne Blvd at Northeast 6th Street in Miami.  You go over a bridge to actually get on the island (Dodge Island) which houses the port.

There are a number of hotels nearby, including

    Holiday Inn Miami Downtown

    Miami Sun Hotel

    Intercontinental Miami

Best Western (on 9th street, I think)

    Courtyard Miami downtown

    Travelodge Royalton

    Reande Continental Hotel

    Leamington Hotel

I believe all of these have shuttles to the dock - some will allow free parking while you are on your cruise - but it varies and changes, so you will need to check the hotels directly to be sure of that.

  4. Directions and parking info for the Port of Miami are here:

There really aren't any hotels super-close the port, and the closest ones are downtown or in Miami Beach and typically have pretty high parking rates. (I've paid $30 a night, though off-season is probably better.)

What I'd recommend is staying at a hotel that's either on Miami Beach (fun!) or in the suburbs (cheap!), and parking at the port.  It'll cost you $20 a day, but your car will be safe and you won't have the cost of a cab or the hassle of a shuttle.

BTW, Imagination's an awesome ship, especially since it was recently remodeled.  If you're interested, there are some good pictures here:

Hope you have a great time!
