  1. Valencia, but I'd go to Ibiza, or Gran Canaria

EDIT - When I say Ibiza, I mean Ibiza Town, not San Antonio

  2. For clubbing and partying, and also good beaches... Alicante. It's simply vibrant. But you shouldn't forget that Valencia is the third largest city in Spain, is very touristic and lively as well, so, nightlife is good in both. Personally, I know better Alicante because I was born in Murcia, province together Alicante, and I go to Alicante several times per year. It won't let you down.

    Have a nice holiday!.

PS: I know there are ferries from Alicante to Ibiza, which has a high reputation because of its nightlife, discoteques, DJ's, bohemian lifestyle... and yes, beautiful beaches and towns.

You can go to Ibiza and enjoy the night on a disco there, and then come back to Alicante at the following day. But I don't how much it costs. I think it takes about 2 hours.

There are ferries from Valencia to Ibiza as well, but I don't know how much time takes the ferry to arrive in.

Watch this for more info about the ferries, if you're interested on: http://www.directferries.es/ferry_de_ibi...

  3. Valencia all the way!!! i lived in Spain 6years (only moved back to England this year for uni but i go back all holidays and moving back asap :D) i lived in Valencia 1 out of the 6years but my main home is directly in between Alicante and Valencia (Javea, that's the BEST holiday place ever :D) Valencia is best for clubs, beaches, bars, history, shopping, theres just so much to do. Alicante is a no no. its too English and the clubs and bars there have a lot of Moroccans hanging out there (they cause a lot of trouble in Spain, not all of them, but a good majority)

  4. Valencia every time, the city has history and is a great place to visit, with the beach nearby.

  5. I don't know either of them well enough to be absolutely sure, but I don't think Valencia has much of a reputation for having great clubs.  Bars are at every corner in Spain, but they are not the same as bars in other countries.  They are more like places to go eat, not to get drunk and meet people.

Valencia has that great huge science center, so if you're looking for some really cool educational stuff to do during the daytime, that would be the thing to consider.  Is Alicante even on the water?  I thought it was a little inland.  But it's a fair University town, so meeting people might be easier there.

Where you decide to go always depends on your interests and what kind of traveller you are.  I'm sure someone else will have the low-down on clubbing.  Someone has already mentioned Ibiza.  I know they have a great reputation for the club scene.

  6. If you want to go to mainland Spain there is only one choice, Malaga-Marbella (fly into Malaga Airport). Alicante is like Coronation Street and Valencia is like Eastenders. All the bext Brit bars like Cream, Nikki Beach and clubs are in Marbella. Have a look at: http://www.holidayhomes.org/spain/marbel...

  7. if you 're going with  a gang of girls looking for bars, clubs and a laugh, dont go to valencia.

    i'm 50 and i love it, and i'd rather you weren't there!

    - i'm only joking, but you know what i mean!!  ;-)

  8. Valencia is beautiful. Alicante will be full of chavs. Go Valencia, there is a great chocolotier on the main square where you can have various choclolate treats with a coffee. Make sure you have paella at one of the restaurants. Get a car for the day and check out the beaches south of Valencia, places like Denia and Xavea. Night Life is all good, plenty of bars and clubs, plus no chavs.Loads to see and do in the day and night. Good shopping great discount Zara store.
