Ive just been offered a job working near Leeds/Bradford Airport and I'm just starting to househunt, I'm looking to rent for at least a year or two.

Where are the nice areas to live? I'll be earning 25k a year so money isnt too much of an issue but obviously I don't want all of my money to go into the house.

Cheers Guys

Lx.

  1. A City Centre apartment, there are currently hundreds standing empty.

  2. Round the airport, they're all pretty nice areas. Bramhope especially is beautiful and a convenient point for Leeds city centre in one direction, Harrogate, Ilkley/Otley in another, Bradford in another. Also in the immediate airport area are Yeadon, Guiseley, Cookridge, Adel, Horsforth, etc. (look at a local map).

I personally would not choose to live in Leeds city centre because of going-to-work traffic in the morning. Better to set off from a more local point and, if you want the attractions of the city centre after work, then traffic is no problem at all in the evening and the roads can be virtually empty at night, e.g. airport to city centre at night by car would take you maybe 15 minutes.

Leeds, together with its surrounding towns/villages, is a great location and so central. If you have a car, then from wherever you choose to live (and especially from the airport area), you can visit some beautiful places within a short distance/time in any direction.

    Good luck!
