  1. Great answer SteveN.

What is it you want to do in Canada.  Do you work?

If income in a factor, definatly check out job sites.  There is also:

    The government job site.

If you want to work in the oilfields, check out:

  2. Have you considered the many lovely small towns in Ontario?

    Check out this website http://www.discover-southern-ontario.com

I came to Canada in the 1970's and have lived in Ontario for many years now, the people are friendly in small towns, there are some beautiful little villages, nice beaches, great cities like London, Ontario.

Our climate is good - not too cold in the winter and we enjoy long, hot summers, and the Autumn colours are beautiful in this area.

    Check it out!

  3. Well there is no right answer to this. Everyone will recommend their favorite town or city.

However, what I would ask is this: What skills do you have? Go to the Monster.ca or jobboom.ca websites and look for jobs available that you would be interested in or qualified to apply for. Take a look at what cities have the most job offers for your skills and then consider moving there if you do not already have a job lined up.

Personally, before I committed to a major change like moving to a new town or city, I'd make sure I had employment ready for me.

You also want to know how this will affect your friends and family. For example, if you have a wife and/or kids, you want a place that is safe and has a good school or parks nearby.

If you are close to friends where you are, you may not want to move so far away that you would have to take a plane to go see them.

Do you prefer city life and going out partying at night on Fridays or weekends? If so, then don't move to a rural town out in the middle of nowhere.

Do you plan to use a car or commute each day to work? If the latter, then public transit is important.

Based on these indicators, someone may be able to give you a better idea of great places to live in Canada, and be able to tell you why they feel it is good for your situation.

Otherwise, you are just going to get messages like "Dude you should move to Calgary! They are so chill! Luv it there!" without giving you any facts about why it is good, such as low crime rate, high paying jobs, near many outdoor activities, etc.
