  1. try a local church or a donation good will store

if you have things that a preschool could use go to them they always need donations

  2. The salvation army takes a lot of "junk" and donates it or sells it to raise money for the needy. Also goodwill stores take donations. It's best to call and ask in advance if donations for those items are being accepted. Some local shelters may also be in need. Contact your local housing agency to see if shelters need anything you don't need. Often I've found that these organizations are already full and things end up in the trash anyway, but it's best to try and see if anyone can use them first! Kudos for your generosity!

  3. You can list it on Freecycle.com.  A lot of charities review these sites and make good use of the goods.  Regular people do to, so you at least know they will be put to use.

  4. You can list your items online on craigslist.com or kijiji.com, ebay's free version of craigslist. You could also do a google search for local charities. Some that come to mind are GoodWill, Salvation Army, and Toys For Tots for the stuffed animals.

  5. Good Will Store,
