Question:

Where to download 2008 Reith Lectures?

I want to listen to the 2008 Reith Lectures (Jonathan Spence on China) on my mp3 player, but the BBC webpage only has the 4th one available to download, the first 3 are streaming only. Is there anywhere else I can get the mp3 files? http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/reith2008/

Bonus question: is there some legal reason the BBC takes the mp3s offline after a while? I'm in the USA, if that has any relevance.

  1. I poked around using "View source" and here are the URLs of the MP3s.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/reith2008/em...

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/reith2008/em...

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/reith2008/em...

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/reith2008/em...

I'm not sure why these links aren't exposed on the page; the page itself says: "Each of the lectures will be available after broadcast to listen again or download."
