  1. Monmarte - up to sacre Coure - if in the summer, you can see the artists in the square.

If in the winter, check out the Catacombs - you enter just off place du bastille

Musee du Orsey or Musee du Picasso if you want relative quick but amazing museum visits

Champs Du Elysses - start at the Louvre and walk up the boulevard to the Arch du Triumphe

  2. Even if 4-5 hrs sound like a lot for you, it might be a bit tight to do a lot of tourism in Paris... Don't forget that you need between 45 to 60 minutes to get out of the Airport after you plane touched ground, then you will have to be back at the Airport between 60 to 45 minutes before take off. So really the time you have to go out will be 2 to 3 hours! If you take a RER (suburb train) from Charles de Gaulle, you will be in Paris within 40 to 45 minutes, in the best of the case you have one and a hour to spend in Paris, it is not much, and probably a lot of stress.

Ok You can always take a taxi from the airport and go to a city called Senlis (it should take 20 min from the Airport). It has a nice ancient center, castel + cathedral.

  3. Don't ever go out - I'm sorry I think it's too short - your idea is very classical - but 1° full of risks 2° too short 3° not realistic

    Take care

Once again back to tell you take care - I know transits are horrible but don't forget : time is veeeeeeeery short - I would not go out

  4. I'd stop at the Luxembourg station on RER line. There you have many cafés and the Luxembourg gardens to stroll into.

  5. The other responder is correct about the timings.   You really won't have time to do much in Paris, but I've written a couple of things that might be possible.

If you want to go into Paris, take the RER to Chatelet.  Go out of the Chatelet station and walk around a bit.  That is a great area!  You could walk through the Montorgueil pedestrian street market or you could walk over to Beaubourg and see the outside of Centre Pompidou.  Then get back on the RER to return to the airport.

Alternatively, go one more station, to St. Michel-Notre Dame.  Walk around the outside of Notre Dame to view the flying buttresses and the garden.  Entry is free, so go inside and look at the beautiful stained glass windows and the architecture.  Watch your time carefully.  If you have enough time, you could also go see Ste. Chapelle, which is very close by.  Get back on the RER and return to the airport.
