Question:

Where to live in Florida?

I am thinking of moving to Florida in a few years. I will have a degree either in a business type field (probably accounting, HR, PR or logistics)or a degree in chemical engineering. I want to live somewhere close to the beach that is warm and sunny and has a friendly down to earth feel. I don't mind the size of the town or city, but I need to live near a few large stores (such as a Target and grocery store) and would like if the city/town has a down town of small privately owned stores and coffee shops. The cost of living can't be outrageous, but I am moving from an area with a very high cost of living so almost anything will be an improvement. When I move I would be in my early 20s so I would like to live somewhere that has at least some younger unmarried people.

I know this is a lot to include and ask but any insight would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Look into Tampa, St Pete or Clearwater.  I moved to Tampa from CA, last year and I really love it here.  It seems perfect based on your description, come for a visit and see for yourself!

  3. I hear Jacksonville is really nice.

  4. Stay away from Daytona Beach!  That's the only place I know about from experience.

  5. Not Miami... maybe Naples?

  6. Jacksonville? I would say Mandarin,St.Johns, and pretty much southeast duval county if your looking for low crime.
