  2. Newyorkgirl is right.  They don't look at unsolicited materal because if they ever produce anything that is remotely similar the author may sue.  Not worth the risk.  They only look at scripts that are submitted through literary agents.  Send your script to them.  If it's good you should get signed.  If you don't get signed it's indicative that you are not ready to write professionally.  And as far as not getting cut in on the profits, there are unions that deal with that and you'd have nothing to worry about.

  3. Forget it:  The industry does NOT have time to read your material.  Forget it!

You can't pitch a movie idea to a studio, the industry does NOT work like that.

Unsolicited scripts are given to the receptionist who throws your "pitch," into the trashcan.

I was  once a receptionist and my "day," revolved around throwing away unsolicited material from wanna-be writers who think they have the next big motion picture.

Most people that send material, can barely but one or two sentences together, let alone an entire script.

Any material you send to a studio will be thrown in the trash can, by that wonderful receptionist, who laughs each time she tosses a script into the trash. Studios can't be responsible for your material.

Always send a very large, self-addressed stamped envelope, with your script, so the receptionist can return it to you.

Studios, cannot be responsible if they have a similar idea in the works, so keep your idea to yourself.

Never tell your ideas to anyone, I mean anyone, as it will surely be stolen.
