Where would I learn about...?

Where would I learn about the Stock Market, and how to invest and start investing, etc. I need some good information on it, because I am going to try to do this in the future and would like to learn as much as possible about it until I do decide to buy some stock.

Anyone who would be willing to help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, everyone.

  1. Great Question.

I would start with the following books which you can buy or check out at your library:

    Investing for Dummies (Great Information)

    Beating the Street (Peter Lynch)

    The Warren Buffet Way

The Intelligent Investor (Benjamin Graham)...bit more advanced reading

You could also get a subscription to money magazine.

Check out the following websites as well:

    www.money.com

www.fool.com   ...motley fool-click on investing, then basics

    www.morningstar.com

    www.seekingalpha.com

    Good luck!

  2. I hope you don't read books like "Rich Dad, Poor dad", they are c**p!

I'd Recommend "The Intelligent Investor" and if you want to get serious "Security analysis" both by Benjamin Graham

These two deal with the psycology on investing, a must read.

I've heard "Common Stocks and uncommon profits" by philip fisher is good also.

You can also access the page of berkshire hathaway and read the letters of Warren Buffett to his shareholders.

"Buffettology", although I don't like it very much, its very recommended (by others).
