Question:

Which 3-wood would you recommend?

I am in the hunt for a 3-wood and would like any recommendations from golfers. I'm a 20 handicap and have trouble getting the ball up in the air with a 3-wood from the fairways. I have a 3 hybrid for getting out of the rough but need a good solid club for getting some distance on those long par-5's. Any suggestions?

  1. nike is the best with 460 and sometimes even eight degrees. that will get you great loft, and of course tiger woods needs it so you can't go wrong

  2. I agree with flat, maybe you should check out lessons.  HOWEVER, you asked for recommendations, so here you go in order of my personal preference for your handicap\

    1) Cleveland HiBore w/Graffaloy Prolaunch

    2) Nike Sasquatch

    3) Callaway FTI

    4) Taylormade Vsteel (although older, this club was still great for needing to hit the ball higher)

    5) Taylormade R7

This is just a few, but by far the best for you is the HiBore w/ graffaloy prolaunch shaft.  This will raise your ball flight significantly, just make sure you get the right flex for you...

    Hope this helps

  3. I have had Callaway woods for many years. In fact I had an original warbird for along time...great club.

Anyway, I would certainly recommend their clubs.

  4. I was looking to get the Cleveland Hibore XLS, but just swung the TaylorMade Burner.  It was pretty sweet.  Also, the new Nike 3 wood was very nice, but more expensive.

Go to a golf store, or D i c k's Sporting Goods and swing the clubs, pick the one you like.

  5. Most pro shops have equipment on hand that you can try on their driving range. If you like something, you can always buy it at another inexpensive location.

  6. nike sasquach and it is only 150 dollars

  7. OK so you are a 20 handicap and you think that equipment will help you be able to hit a three wood.  Stop spending money on equipment and learn some better fundamentals.  Most 20s can't hit a three wood unless it is on a tee and some super game improvement club isn't going to improve your swing.

  8. well if you want to be able to get the ball up you should try a 5 wood but if you dont want to do that you could just try the titlest 904 it is an older 3 wood but i could hit it pretty high and it should help you
