Which Cat Food Is Best?

I've been wondering which cat food is best. I'd like to feed cats Felix: As Good As It Looks, but Pets At Home Cat Complete looks better for them. Which food would be best?

Science Diet, many reasons number #1 is vet recommended, and #2, makes for cleaning the liter box not as bad

Purina is the worst , your cat could have messy bm's to clean up

I can't find an ingredients listing for either product.  Can you link to some?  I'd be happy to review the ingredients for you and give you my opinion.

A quick answer that holds true for any part of the world:  Avoid foods with corn, wheat or soy.  Don't buy any that contain BHA/BHT or Ethoxyquin.  Those are some of the main things to look for.

I give my cat Purina Indoor Formula. He really likes it and it's formulated for him being indoors.

Look at the ingredients of the food. You want to go for the ones that have very little or no filler products. Also, the first few ingredients should simply be meats. For instance, just "fish, chicken, etc" before it goes into all the vitamins and what not.

The higher up an ingredient is on the ingredient list, the more of it the product contains.

feed your cat one brand for a month. then the next month feed it the other brand. keep an eye on your cat for those two months and see if you notice any difference (i.e. it's fur, it's skin (is it itching a lot?), is it energetic or lethargic, etc.)

it also depends on whether your cat is an indoor cat, or an outdoor cat. if it's an outdoor cat, chances are it eats birds and lizards and squirels, so it's getting other nutrients that it wouldnt get if it were an indoor cat.

there are a lot of factors in chosing the healthiest food for your cat.

In my opinion, Whiskas cat food is the best because it's a well-balanced diet.  In particular, Whiskas cat food is available in convenient pouches and re-sealable dry food bags.  I feed my cat Whiskas every day and he is doing just fine. Just remember not to give him/her too much dry food as it can cause urinary tract problems.  Always keep fresh water available too.

Do you take your cat to the vet?  They can usually give suggestions.  Some cats have certain dietary needs, which can be pricey, whereas others can be perfectly healthy and happy on the inexpensive stuff that is out there.  Mine are on indoor Purina formula, since they never go outside, and they get Fancy Feast canned food as a treat.

My cats LOVE the Purina Indoor Formula and actually refuse to eat anything else.  As far as can foods go, they aren't really that great you feed to your cats all the time and can make them become spoiled on it.  They've also found that Fancy Feast leads to a lot of kidney failure problems.  I work at a cat shelter and for the longest time the owner was feeding the cats Fancy Feast and they began throwing up a ton and getting sick a few DID pass on due to kidney failure.  We've also found that the cats at our shelter devour Evo, Science Diet (which can be kind of greasy), Taste of The Wild, and Wellness.  Good luck :)

The vets always suggest Iams or Science Diet.  The cheaper stuff has a higher ash content and is especially bad for male cats.  I have never tried the two you have listed though.  You could do some research and look how people rate those two online :)

Wellness- wet twice a day, dry out all day, fresh water out all day refilled twice a day.  In your other question, you just told us you have no cat.  Did you just get one?
