  1. Well, you can take Mapquest out of the choices.

  2. Most of the sources you mention use either NAVTEQ or TeleAtlas for their map data.  Actually most of those use NAVTEQ.  Therefore, they will all have the same map data.  It's just a question of when they last got an update from NAVTEQ.  Usually the websites update their maps quarterly.  The GPS manufacturers release new maps yearly.

  3. Most accurate for what?

All maps are going to pretty accurate, its how useful they are that matters.

In the UK, if you want a map you can easily navigate by, I would choose an Ordanance Survey 1:2500 scale map.

  4. Can't always count on the internet maps to be accurate. Sometimes they are true and other times they are way off base. It's best to just get an up to date paper map and write your own drive to directions or have a friend do it for you if you aren't good with maps.

It also depends on whether you are looking for a home address, a business address or a person. The most reliable map I've used is a metsker map for people and addresses that are difficult to locate. You can get one at the County Assessor's Office for maybe $5-10 bucks. Prices may vary in different counties.

As for GPS maps, I've never needed one so I couldn't tell you exactly how accurate they might be.
