Which Martial Arts should i take?

I am 19, in great shape, run and workout weekly and now i want to take a martial arts but i am not sure what one i should go with.

  1. it depends on what you want to learn. there are many types of martial arts to choose from. you should look into some of the schools near your home and see what they have to teach you.


  2. i would choose the one in yoru area that has the best intruction and the most realistic training. here is a list of the steps I would take.

    1) Make a list of all teh availible schools in your area.

    2) Search on here for questions about finding a good school, as there are many good answers.

    3) Visit each school in your area and judge them by the list you made from the search on here.

    I do no care if you wind up with BJJ/karate/TKD/Kung Fu/MMA. What matters is that you ahve the best instructor and school.

    As for what bujikan Ninja says i would seriously doubt that you would want to take advice from somebody who despit their extensive training thinks that a yellow belt in TKD has to register as a lethal weapon in Florida? Here's proof.

  6. if you want practical then mma, muaythai, wingchun is good for speed attacks, bjj is best grapple just depends what you think you would be suited for but mma covers stand up and grapple

  7. Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. It has everything. It's a combat martial art that will teach you to survive at all costs. It is authentic Ninjutsu.

  8. Judo for basic takedowns and other basics

    Karate for some more into it fighting.

    Then go into crane,ju jitso,and monkey.

If you wanna learn real self defense, I suggest you to practice krav maga(martial art used by israeli commandos), If you are flexible and wanna compete then you should do taek won do( taek won do focuses on flashy kicks), if you are quite strong and like to grapple then you should do brazilian jiu jitsu
