For the 'Cool' Factor: You would be hard to beat a properly restored 1965 Mustang, but don't forget to factor in: How cool is it to adjust a finicky carburetor? How cool is it to be on the phone all week searching for parts? How cool is it to have a garage full of tools and parts that only old mechanics recognize? Points, condenser, cap, rotor, button, a spare bendix anyone? How cool is it to be overheated on the side of the highway? How cool is it to lose your clutch during a parade?

If you are talking about how cool is the 'Idea' of owning a classic Mustang... it is VERY cool! The amount of work it takes to maintain a show quality Mustang that is over 45 years old is a different story.

For an everyday driver, the 2007 by far. For turning heads, the 1965 by far. I like the new ones, but I think they're getting a little fat and heavy. They need to get them back under 3000 pounds. That would help both performance and fuel economy, with less weight to move around.
