Question:

Which UFC is better?

Personally, I think the old (1993-esque) UFC tournaments were a lot better- virtually no rules, hardly any referee intervention, less boxing-style combat. The new UFC is lame; a knock-out is called when someone falls to the ground, not even actually knocked-out.

Anyone have an opinion?

  1. I like the old UFC as well, but the old UFC is what made "traditionalists" from "traditionalist styles" hate the UFC and MMA practitioners in the first place because "traditionalists" used to get their asses handed to them left and right back in those days in the cage.  That's why they quit coming to fight in the cage against real MMA practitioners ( jujitsu practitioners in all honesty ).  Now days "taditionalists" just cut down sport MMA because they know they can't hang with the "Big Boys".

I'd like to see changes made to the sport as well as the next guy of course and I personally think that the "Gi" should be worn in the cage to give jujitsu, judo and sambo practitioners their sport back.  Of course the 4  - 6 oz. grappling gloves, cups. and mouth pieces as well, but the "Gi" should be mandatory in the cage.  Does a man defend him self against a "half naked" opponent in a "real life situation"?  NO!!!! there are seasons to consider like spring, winter, fall and summer is just a short season anyway.  So make it "mandatory" for the Gi to be worn in the cage ..... that's how it should be.   Let's face it this sport only needs few rules man .... No eye gouging, no strikes to the spine and no bitting and no dropping knees or stomping down on a grounded opponent .... that's it end of list as far as I'm concerned and especially if the Gi were mandatory ...you know what I'm saying?  Of course competitiors would have to buy new Gi's all the time from the blood that would ruin a decent Gi, but oh well it's a money game any way with all the licensing fees and travel costs anyway.  plus there needs to be a rule "excluding independent fighters" from entering the cage man .... these dudes are idiots and often end up hurt because they have no formal training what so ever.

Just a few thoughts and the way I'd like to see things.
