i get to go to new york next weekend for my sixteenth bday and i'm so excited b/c i've always wanted to go there. i'm going to see 'rent' in the evening. i thought that it would be cool to see the show since its my second favorite movie. but i'm also allowed to see one other show. i've narrowed it down to four. which one is best?

-mama mia (i've heard the songs from it before and it sounds cute)

-chicago (loved the movie!)

-a chorus line (i heard it was really good from someone in my theater class that saw it)

-avenue q (its with puppets, so i thought it might be cool b/c its different)

which one is the best in your opinion?

  1. In my opinion A Chorus Line would be the best it is a classic showtuney show.  Avenue Q is hilarious somewhat crude humor, but it depends on your taste.  Mama Mia is average, and chicago is not that great.  I am not a fan of the movie rent but the stage version is ok.

  2. I really enjoyed all 4 of those shows, but if you liked Rent you will definitely like Avenue Q so I'd go with that one!

  3. I've seen Avenue Q, A Chorus Line, and Chicago, and I must say that A Chorus Line is (in my opinion) the best musical ever written. The staging is out of this world, the music is has so much emotion, and the acting is pretty solid. It's truly a classic. But you wont be disappointed with either one. They're all solid investments.

    Have fun.

  4. This is my order of preference and I have seen them all so yeah...

    Avenue Q

    A Chorus Line

    Chicago

    Mamma Mia

However my all-time favorite musical is Spring Awakening so you shoud see it.. however if you'r egoing with your parents it may be awkward... depends on the parents.. i'm 16 also and i loved it and, and it wasnt very awkward cuz my parents are cool

also avenue q is innaporiate too just so you know befor you go.

  5. Avenue Q. Great choice about RENT. It's leaving Broadway soon, so I'd get your fill.

  6. well, Avenue Q is basically R-rated, so if you're going w/ your parents, not the best choice ;)

Mamma Mia! is interesting enough, it's a bit too frothy for my tastes.

A Chorus Line is a classic, you won't be disappointed :)

And if you loved the movie version of Chicago, you'll love it live. There's so much more...magic to it when it's live

  7. MAMA MIA OR CHORUS LINE

BUT THERE ARE  MANY OTHERS TO SEE TO
