Which camera should I buy??

Question

I want to buy a camera, not too expensive, and I have no clue what to look for. I've been told that Canon, Nikon and Casio are good brands, so I picked out some that I thought were pretty good and in my price range:

Canon A590 IS 8.0 Megapixels @ $139.99

Nikon CoolPics L18 8.0 MP @ $129.99

Casio Exilim EX-Z80 8.1 MP @ $152.99

Samsung S860 8.1 MP @ $99.99

Prices were the best from Dell. I just want to know which one is worth it. If you have any other suggestions for cameras I'm happy to hear what you think would be good.

I'll just be using it for parties friends and stuff like that. Nothing major!

Definitely go with the Canon PowerShot A590 IS. 8 megapixels, 4X optical zoom. The price is a good one. You have the option of keeping controls on auto or manually set shutter speed/ aperture manually. That can be a useful learning experience. Furthermore you have an image stabilizer on that model for shaky hands, which means you'll probably have less blurry photos. Don't forget to buy a memory card.

Nikons are always the best quality...you won't be disappointed.

i would go for the canon one, the IS technology seem to be very handy for just using for party,friend etc.

The Nikon is a good value for the price, and Nikons are always good.  I would not recommend Sonys as they are less value, and their memory cards are ridiculously expensive.

I own 5 camera's. One is the Canon A-590. I can't think of a bettor camera for the price. Buy 4AA batteries and a charger+ a1GB SD memory card and you are in buisness. $139 is a VERY good price for an A-590.
