Question:

Which computer should I buy?

For my price range I have looked and found two or three good computers, but I do not know which one to spend my money on. The two "finalists" are the HP Pavilion dv2910us Laptop and the Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5881 Laptop, and to my eyes they are pretty much the same, with only minor technical differences. Which one should I buy, considering I want this laptop to last, and I have found both on sale. OR: even better, does anyone have any suggestions on which laptop I should look at with equivalent or better features for under, lets say $1000?

  1. Get The HP,

But if you are willing to pay a 1000$ for a computer get a mac, it originally cost 1100$ but with a student discount it will cost 999.99$

  2. Hi Shad

I have tried and purchased and still own the compu you mention. Toshiba is very nice but overheats and always broker. It ended on the shelf after fixing it 3 times in 4 months. HP is very good but the support is a nightmare but is those are your choices, get HP.

I would look into ACer Aspire. They are reliable, fast, and sturdy as well as Compaq.

BTW, we program and beta-test windows on Acers and with the new VISTA, they are virtually crashproof and you will save loads of money and half the price almost.

  3. I know of a place that has affordable computer laptops for sometimes under 300 dollars, they do offer warranties and ways to customize upgrade and downgrade. but the store is online and I dont know if that is what you are looking for, they even give free restaurant gift certificates for every purchase too, a bonus!
