MAC's Prep and Prime Face Protect with SPF 50 or Smashbox Photo FInish foundation primer??

To be more specific I'm more interested in a primer that keeps the foundation stay on longer not so much the smoothing out skin.

  1. okay.

to be honest, I worked for smashbox for a while.. and I hated their primer. I found it to roll off, clump together, etc.

If you must get a smashbox primer, get the "light" one, which doesn't have that silky texture of silicon, but it won't roll off like the original.

also, i'm not a fan of the mac prep & prime either.

My suggestion for a face primer is either the one by laura mercier or there is a brand called tarte, and they have a primer that seems to work pretty well.

also, it depends how oily your skin is- how well and how long the silicon based primers will keep your makeup on.

if you have more oily skin, there is a skincare line called peter thomas roth. I have been using that for a couple years now and it not only keeps my skin from getting shiny, but it makes my pores appear smaller.

  2. Smashbox Photo Finish by far, i have been using it for about a year now, and i think its great!

also might i add that when i go swimming my make up really stays in place for quite a while unless you go all day then of course it eventually comes completely off. also, i use bare essentials powder foundation which i have been using for 4 years.

  3. SamshBox Photo Finish stays longer
