I want the slow moving kind that doesn't get to big but is medium sized.

It could be a two colored goldfish.

One that doesn't jump or wouldn't jump out.

Thanks for your answers.

  1. I like "rosies". They're feeder fish we use for our aquatic turtle but they are the cutest and come in different colors. Petco or PetSmart should have them, ask for them by name.

  2. The smallest goldfish you can get will still grow to 6 inches.  If you want a small fish, a goldfish is not for you.  And all fish are capable of jumping, so you should cover your tank.

Fancy goldfish stay the smallest and are slower than commons because of their body shape.  They come in a variety of colors and shapes.  A fancy would do well in a tank of at least 20 gallons with very good filtration.

[edit] Rosy reds are minnows, not goldfish, if that's what you're talking about.

  3. They all get big...if they stay small, then they're stunted, which means their bodies stop growing but their organs don't.

Basically any Goldfish would be right for you...as long as you have a 20+ gallon tank with a filter.

    E-mail me for any questions!

  4. you should get the one that you love the first time you see, just think about the fish you always wanted
