  1. I personally like Wizard. He is big and flashy which I just like on a personal level. From a jumping standpoint, I like Wizard's form better. Wizard has a beautiful bascule (nice rounded body over the jumps) and look how tight he is with his knees! He won't be knocking any rails with his forelegs that's for sure! This implies that he will be good with even higher fences eventually. Wizard is a lot looser with his knees and does not lift them as high over the jumps. This could limit him as you move to higher courses. Of course, the final decision comes down to you and your test rides and which horse you think you are a better fit with.

  2. If you are starting out I'ld buy Wizard, Colts as him have stronger legs. The other looks like a Champion and if I was an experienced rider then I would Buy him!

  3. I think that My Habit looks like a better bet out of the two.

  4. well theyre both good.

Wizard is a young horse so you'd have to have alot of time and patience to advance his training, he needs experience.

My Habit is slightly older but has more experience as a jumper so would be better for you if you don have alot of experience in training a younger horse like Wizard.

before you buy get a vet to check them both and ask the seller if you can take the horse you like on trial for a week to make sure youre not making a mistake, its easy to fall into the trap of sellers who sedate a horse so its a gentle thing when its being sold then you get it home and its crazy.

good luck, personally id take My Habit for his experience.

  5. Both horses look like they could be (and are!) great jumpers.

I particularly like Wizards build.  He has nice, clean, solid legs.  He would also be really flashy in the show ring because of his colouring.  He's a gorgeous mover and I love his gaits.  He also jumps cleanly and solidly.

My Habit, on the other hand, is a proven jumper.

It all depends on you.  If you'd like a veteran horse to teach you (and of course to grow with you), then get My Habit.

If you'd love to buy a more green horse (4 months of pro training isn't actually that much in the training world) and be able to teach him, then buy Wizard.  However, if you're not an experienced rider and are going to be riding sometimes unsupervised by an experienced trainer, than don't buy Wizard.  You could pass on your bad habits to him making them harder to break later if you don't catch them early.

Also, it can depend on your height, too.  If you're really tall, you might like a horse that is Wizard's height.

Price.  If price is an issue, than buy the cheaper horse because they are both definately nice horses.

A HUGE thing to consider (probably one of the biggest) is how you get along with the horses.  Take a few rides on both.  Hang out with them on the flat and maybe hand walk them and turn them out to see how they react to certain things.  If you don't get along with a horse but they're a great jumper, then what's the point if you'll be fighting with them through the whole jump course?

I particularly like Wizard's build and jump better and I could really see a great future for him!
