Which is better? Limewire or BitTorrent?

I have Limewire but a lot of people told me BitTorrent was better? Please tell me which is better or if there is any others let me know!

Limewire is good for downloading like abstract songs that you wouldn't usually manage to get hold of. But it's packed with viruses etc.

BitTorrent still has viruses but it's a lot easier to work out which are viruses and which aren't as it shows you what your about to download.

But having said this I use both anyway.

ok i know what limewire is but not BitTorrent but i'm assuming it's also illegal... heres a story... a guy in my year (11) used limewire but got caught (not sure how) and was sued £15000... well i sure hope he got his monies worth.

id go with limewire. doesnt really have viruses and if it does it usually will say the file is corrupted or the anti virus thing will say so

For me, Limewire is better for downloading single tracks of music but BitTorrent or UTorrent is better for movies

To be honest limewire is much better. Ive worked out that ive saved something like £610 using that instead of itunes and it has never given me a vires or slowed down my computer. Alot of people say bittorent is v.v dodgy.

bit torrents imo, limewire has too many fakes and is easier to track ect if you are downloading things illegaly. (which you shouldnt) but bit torrents you can download whole albums or only specific tracks if you want to, which is why i prefer it.

bittorrent is excelent for getting unwanted virusus

to make it simple bittorrent is good for large files but people like to stick i virus in with your file so be carefull

limewire is ok for file like music but MP3 Rocket is the exact same program but i found it loads faster.

when i last used them both i was getting these speeds

limewire 20kbs MAX

mp3 rocket 170kbs

so if you limewire speed isnt as fast as 100kbs i reccomend using mp3 rocket

but i dont know what you are using it for so use what ever is best for your needs

You're comparing apples to oranges.

They are both used to download files, but they were designed for two different purposes.

Limewire is a p2p client, made for transferring single files between users.

BitTorrent is a protocol created to ease the burden of distributing large collections of files.

For sharing one file, Limewire (or any p2p network) is better. For sharing large groups of files, BitTorrent is better.

It's like comparing a motorcycle to a school bus.
