  1. In school you'll learn a lot of grammar. Rosetta Stone doesn't teach any. I didn't have much luck with either method. I found a good website http://www.learn-podcast-spanish.com/spa... that has the most common phrases that natives speak to each other.

This helped me improve really fast because they were the same phrases my hispanic buddies were using.

    Check it out.

  2. Try this website:

  3. Well, exactly. Why would anyone go to classes for that long if it only could take a half a year on the computer? The answer is because going to the class you will probably learn more, get a better foundation of the language, and actually eventually become somewhat fluent in Spanish. I have used Rosetta Stone and personally found that it is not that great. It is just very repetitive and never really tells you any grammar rules and assumes you will just learn them on your own. I would say take classes at a college if you actually want to learn the language.

  4. Are you sure you will be getting all the same information at rosetta stone as with taking classes. I could be learning basic spanish in half a year and be learning more with classes. Learning a language takes time and also depends on how fast you pick it up. The advantage of classes is that you have a teacher correcting you when your pronunciation isn't correct.
