Which is more dense?

Is Oxygen more or less dense than the mixture of gases that is our atmosphere. ie if I filled a balloon with Oxygen would it float?

  1. The density of air at sea level is about 1.2 kg/m³(1.2 g/L).  The density of oxygen is about 1.4 kg/m³.

    Oxygen is MORE dense than air, so an oxygen filled baloon will not float.


  2. I think more dense, and yes, it probably will float.

  3. a balloon filled with oxygen would float in water, but it would not fly into the sky.
