Which is the best browser?

I use three different browsers which is the latest IE, latest Mozilla, and the google chrome. I am currently using chrome but i want to know what is the best browser out there in overall statistics?

All Browsers have their own merits & demerits

Google Chrome

4. Pictorial Display of bookmarks or history.(other browsers display in form of text)

Apple Safari

1. Good interface(show Apple's brilliance in design)

2. Faster than Firefox 3.0 or IE6.

3. Does have some bugs like browser crashes when you scroll through date drop-down box.

Mozilla Firefox

1. Apt interface(almost similar to IE6)

2. Security

3. other Features most similar to Firefox

As many people have said that the best browser depends on each individual personality, which is true, but I think the question is that which delivers in terms of overall package?

User interface, speed, safe, and a lot of things come to mind! I have been using Chrome since 24hrs and never once did I want to go back to Firefox or IE! Of course there are compatibility issues and plugins are not available, but even so these problems will fade away with time! So, my pick of the lot is 'Google Chrome', People at Google really work hard irrespective of their Redmond counterparts who I think don't do enough for the kind of money they get paid with the exception of 'Windows Live'!

Here's how I rate each browser- well known of them!

Chrome 9/10

Firefox3 8/10

Safari    7/10

Opera    7/10

IE7        6/10

For me best browser is Opera.

It really depends on what you are looking for in a browser. Internet Explorer has been around for ages, and has the full support of Microsoft behind it. It is sleek and powerful, but on old(ish) computers that may slow you down a bit. Still, as the standard browser, you won't find many other negatives with it.

Mozilla FireFox is a highly customizable browser. New themes and gadgets are released every week, and this gives a personal feel to it when viewing websites. Although it slows the computer down, it isn't as bad as IE, though on a fast computer, you won't notice much of a difference between the two.

Other options available are Opera Browser. This browser offers very limited customization features (only a colour change in fact), but because of this gives very fast browsing. it doesn't require as many resources as IE or FF, but it isn't very fun to browse in something that looks as out-of-date as it does.

The final major browser is Apple Safari. In my opinion it is the fastest of the 4 browser and my personal favourite. Its style is based on the iTunes layout and it doesn't offer any customizability, but if you like iTunes, you'll love this browser. Its major downfall is the fact that it doesn't render (load) webpages very well. This can become very irritating while browsing so most people don't give it a second thought. It does run very fast (even on slow computers) and has the fastest startup time of all browsers. If you find that the pages you usually visit work fine on Safari, you won't have anything bad to say about it.

A new introduction to the Browser market is Google Chrome, Google's first attempt at an internet browser. It is currently in a beta version, but it seems to be one fo the fastest browser out there. But, as it is still in beta, there are many stibilty and security problems with it. I would recommend against using it as your primary browser, for the moment at least, until the final release comes out.

So it really depends on what kind of person you are and what type of computer you have. You can't go wrong with IE or FF, but under stress, they perform slowly, Opera is a boring looking browser but can run where the other two can't, Safari has problems with rendering many webpages and there are far too many security risks with Chrome, but is much the fastest of them all. I personally use all five of them (but IE and Safari are my main two). If Apple ever get the rendering process sorted, it would be my number 1 choice.

your talking about a personal preference above everything else here.

for someone who does not want even tabed browesing then IE6 is the bees knees (though my dad now has to update haha)

personaly i like firefox.

tried chrome earlier, middle click scroll wasn't working so i quickly returned to FF

if you want something well developed go for firefox, as it is highly customizible.

however if your not bothered about extra's i would stick with chrome as it has a small foot print, and a fast page rendering

and the amount of statistical difference between the software, only matters if your running on something like 120mb of ram (my laptop :( )

Most popular by far is Internet Explorer. However Firefox tends to be the favorite of the anti-Microsoft crowd.  From my experience Firefox pages load faster, they display properly on Firefox and I like the plug-in you get not to mention every page displays on Firefox. Furthermore from my experience I have found a lot of usability issues with IE 7.0, IE 8.0 Beta 1, and IE 8.0 Beta 2.  Also I have found that Opera many time will not work well with completing forms and can take a while for a page to load. However I do like Opera's multi-tab feature and the ability to retain the tabs when you re-open it. Finally I have tried other browsers like K-Melon, Safari, and Camelon. Overall I would have to say Firefox is my favorite browser with Opera coming in at a close second.
