Which laptop is the best?

I'm gonna be a sophomore in college, and I'm not sure which laptop would be the best for me? I'm gonna be writing a lot,downloading a lot of pictures, music and videos....typical stuff...I'm down to vaio, or an apple macbook with Core 2 Duo processor...which one do you believe to be better?

Those two are indeed a good choice. But it all comes down to this. first choose the one which you think best suit your preferences. Second, will it handle the applications that you'll be running on it. third, Is your budget enough for you to have that equipment. It's better if you know simple things about your prefered equipment, with this you will sum up things more easier and helps you decide especially in choosing.
