Which laptop should i get?

The HP has more bang for the buck. It has same features as the Dell, but for the most part, its features are better. It also comes with a LightScribe enabled optical drive, which is great if you watch lots of movies or make lots of cd's and like creating your own labels.

It also has a better graphics card (nVidia GeForce vs. Intel).

THE Dell Inspiron is a way better choice - but i would recommend you get something that will last you longer,comes with HD capabilities,fast, sleek, like the     -- HP Pavilion dv5z series -they are freaking awesome and inexpensive

neither?  Man, if I were in the U.K., I wouldn't be wasting the opportunity to get anything other than HP or Dell.

... what are you planning on using this for?

If its going to stay on a desk all day, just get a desktop. If you plan on playing games, get the HP, it has a graphics card in it. If it's for school, I hope you lift weights, because both are fairly heavy.

You can always upgrade the RAM in the HP if really needed, but 2 GB should be plenty.
