I recently found out i made a grades 6-8 pom team. I am going into 8th grade and am very excited for high school poms. The team that has tryouts is very good and wins almost every competition. But this is the bad part: I live in another city than the team is, and there is a team for my city. There are no tryouts and anyone without any dance experience can join. The coach for that team is the same as the high school team I will be trying out for. They don’t do as well in competitions. The tryout team has great technique and does amazing. They also practice more and go to poms camp. My city’s team only practices once or twice a week and doesn’t go to any camps over the summer. I really don’t know what I should do. Please help

Sorry I wrote a lot

  1. I personally would go for the one that does tryouts. If you don't get on it you always have the other team to fall back on. If you do get in but find that the distance is a problem you can also fall back on the other team. If its the same coach maybe you can ask her to see if you would be able to go onto to your local team if you can't keep up with going to the tryout team.

    Good luck in your tryouts.x

  2. go for the team you think you will do best in. If the team does not require tryouts, they probably do not look that good when they are dancing, which might mean that it could be to easy for you. i would go for the team that you think your would excel at the most. don't go for the easy team because you will not learn anything.
