Which qoute is correct?

Question

When one door closes another opens. But often we look so long so regretfully upon the closed door that we fail to see the one that has opened for us.

or

When one door closes two windows open. Since we might think that the two other openigs are better {most of the time} but in the long run can be just as good or more.

Can yous think of more qoutes that seem contradicted by another one? Like: People say stop and smell the roses but why does noone stop to smell the grass? You know "roses" are beautiful but the simpleir things in life can at times bring more joy adn should also be appreciated.
