Which races came first?

which race spanwed from another race?I read somewhere caucasians diverged from the mongoloid race but i highly doubt that.

Unless someone has made a new discovery recently the paradigm is that H. sapiens originated in Africa and all subsequent races evolved from this population.

Ediacarans are what some believe the Human race came from.

According to The Journey of Man, by Spencer Wells, the first group of human to break off from the main stock were the indigenous people of Australia.  I believe (don't have access at the moment) that the next wave to leave Africa, thousands of years later, split into the Asian and Caucasian races.  Native Americans are descended from Asians who crossed the Bering Strait, probably during one of the Ice ages, when Siberia and Alaska were connected.  Middle Easterners are Caucasians.
