Which stat is more impressive?

Question

Of the 2 notable Wilt the Stilt stats, which is more impressive, scoring 100 points in a game, or scoring 50.4 point a game for a season.

Both are very, very impressive. Scoring 100 points is just unheard of, BUT players have come within shouting distance, most recently Kobes 81 point effort. But still, its not 100. But averaging 50.4 ppg is, in my mind more impressive. People make big deals about a player scoring 50 once, this guy scored 50 on an average night. What do you guys all think?

averaging 50.4 ppg. its so much better because that is not even close to what anyone has ever gotten. i think jordan got like 34 ppg. and 100 isnt as impressive because if kobe really tried, he could get like 90. if he played 48 minutes full speed ball hogging, he could get pretty close to wilt's 100.

Dude back when Wilt played nobody was even 7 feet to guard him. Kobe could of scored 200 points per game back then.

i think 50.4 ppg is probably most impressive, but, 100 points in a game is right after that

I think Wilt's most impressive stat from that season was that he averaged 48.5 minutes per game.

Both are AMAZING, but come on...he could not do that now. He probably wouldn't even average 30 ppg now with all the rules.

I say points per game.  Kobe scored 80 some points once a couple years ago....but hes pts per game was only 30 or so.  50 pts a game is impressive, the 100pts a game can be broken, but that 50pt average wont.  Besides doesnt he hold another record with the ladies? ;)

I agree with you here. Avg 50+ pts for a season is insane. This will never happened again. Ever! Wilt was the only one that could do it.

50.4 points a night is crazy. Scoring 100 points a night is just no the same.

averaging over 30 points a game is impressive. 50 is just crazy. to me that's more impressive

I agree with you scoring an average of just above 50 a game is amazing if you think about it.

50.4 is more impressive.  more consistent than doing good on one night therefore more impressive.

put the same rules that they have today and he wouldn't of averaged 50pts a game. there was no three seconds in the lane back then. wilt parked inside and dominated weaker smaller players.
